SPONHOLTZ KEYNOTE AT STUDENT BANQUET

Berlin High School Alum Steve Sponholtz delivered the Keynote address at the Students of the Month banquet sponsored by the Berlin Rotary Club and Berlin Arts & Humanities Council on Monday, May2, 2011.  The banquet was held at Mascoutin Country Club.

Steve Sponholtz was born and raised in Berlin, graduating from BHS in 1978.  Steve married his high school sweetheart Cathy Meyer and together they have a son Eric who is 28 .

After high school Steve UWO and MPTC and majored in photojournalism.  Steve was a representative for Thrivent Financial from 1981-1986.  In 1986 Steve and Cathy opened Sponholtz Photography and ran that successful business until selling the studio in 2008.  Steve decided to go back to college and in 2007 he graduated from UWO with a degree in Education.  In 2008 Steve began his career with 1^st National Bank in Berlin as a Personal Banker.  Currently Steve is the Financial Advisor, a licensed Securities Representative for 1^st National Bank.

Steve was the Mayor of Berlin from 1997-2001 and has been involved in many organizations and boards.  He is currently the President of Grace Lutheran Church and has served on the Berlin city Council, Berlin School Board, Green Lake County Crime Stoppers and Berlin Booster Club.  Steve has been a member of Berlin Rotary and Berlin Kiwanis as well as an announcer for WISS Sports.  Steve’s hobbies includes fishing, golfing and working on his quarry property.
